I just got what hopes to be my legendary survivor dervish to the sunspear sanctuary place, and it's hard and kind of nerve wracking trying to join a pug to go cap it. Mainly because of hearing how everyone gets owned by the double damage and stuff. I was wondering if someone could help me cap it kind of easily. The only decent lvl 20 hero i have is olias so I could make him a spoiling victor necro or something to help.

Also forgot to mention that the char name is her guardian reaper.

im not at home but what i can say to help is rit spirits,aegis, and for you young survivor my only advice is really dont go anyway near him he will tear you apart even with some uber 1337 healing

Clear all the idiots that guard him. Once he's alone land an arrow on him so he morphs and run away. Once the form is almost over engage and kill him.

Dont forget a good running skill. Since the morf makes him run faster.

The sad thing about survivors and trying to cap is that if you test the waters against Balthazar, you will die at least once. He is tough as any melee boss can be, or more so. Making Olias a Spoil Necro would be nice if you had a seperate MM to deal with all the soldiers around him.

Best way to get him is to draw him out, and let the rest of the party do the heavy fighting. Try to get a boost before engaging him,too, as in kill other bosses(2 minimum), build a minion army, and have a nuker in your team. Having favor and getting a moral boost from there works as well. Heavy damage is the key, and to inflict it consistently is the goal. A riposte warrior would help to defend against him(Koss with a solid Riposte build would be fine if you can keep him in Balthazar's face).

Also, when facing dervs in general, try to watch the enchantments used to see what enhancments they use on themselves, in order to plan to counteract them,either by rending or proection against them.

Also, a mesmer would be nice, preferably a domination/illusion mesmer. Empathy and Backfire in PvE makes for alot of dead dervs.

Seconded. Just don't even try it. Part of the skill of getting Survivor (though mainly the higher tiers) is knowing when you're out-matched...and you'll be out-matched against him...unless you're real good. I would suggest going out there and killing him with another melee character just to see what sort of damage that nutter can inflict...or take up the offer of going with someone on a farming run and let someone solo him.

Don't risk it...it's not worth it.

Just don't bring a MM and you will be fine. As soon as the acolyte starts hitting summoned creatures there will be some massive damage done cause of Banishing Strike.

really? i did it with a MM and all the minions body blocked him.
killed him in one run.

but okey, that was a couple of months ago before all the updates..

minions blocking + insidious parasite/spoil victor on him = drastic drop in his hp.
